The New Misogyny: Questioning Gratuitous Lena Dunham Nudity on 'Girls'

The New Misogyny: Questioning Gratuitous Lena Dunham Nudity on 'Girls'
My favorite defense of Lena was this from producer Jenni Konner:

"I was just looking at him looking at him and going into this rage [over] this idea that you would talk to a woman like that and accuse a woman of showing her body too much. The idea it just makes me sort of sick."

The reporter/critic asked Lena the same question in the same manner that he would have used with a guy who was waving his dick all the time, but Ms Konner wanted Lena to have some special treatment because she is a woman. Konner doesn't seem to understand the whole concept of sexism. If you treat women differently from men because they are women, that is, by definition, sexist.

I dunno what the real purpose of Lena's nudity is, but the show is supposed to be a comedy (or so it says in the TV listings), which means it should be funny, and she sure looks funny with her clothes off, so I can't see why anybody would feel that is not appropriate.
