My answer used to be "no," but I've changed my mind on this subject. After you take out the effects of home parks, Larry Walker is exactly as good a hitter as Duke Snider, a solid Hall of Famer. To extend that comparison, Walker was faster than Snider, was a better base-runner, and had a stronger arm. I realize that Snider was a good centerfielder, and that's generally more important than a rightfielder, but on those occasions when Walker was asked to play center, he covered about as much ground as Snider.
I withdraw my objections.
