Many of them deservedly so.
Roger Ebert called The Brown Bunny the worst film ever to appear at Cannes, and he was actually being generous because: (1) he called it a "film"; (2) he limited it to Cannes.
As for The Tree of Life, I'm kinda surprised anyone could stay awake long enough to boo.
On the other hand, Pulp Fiction and Taxi Driver turned out to be considered classics.
