8 Famous Documentaries That Are Full Of Sh*t
People get confused about documentaries. They are not presentations of facts intended to allow an objective evaluation. As a general rule, they are presentations of opinions. They are the cinematic equivalent of a letter to the editor, and therefore present only the facts and attitudes that support their preconceived notions.

ReplyDeleteThanks for posting this important disclaimer for the Michael Moore age. When I studied film in college, this was a point one of my professors drilled into us: a documentary isn't objective truth, it's just a reworking of reality to express the filmmaker's viewpoint. Of course, that was so long ago, the only documentary in existence was "Nanook of the North." Which, incidentally, is a litany of crap.
