Bloomington changes names of two city holidays to ‘better reflect cultural sensitivity’

The city will be calling Columbus Day “Fall Holiday” and Good Friday “Spring Holiday.”

I'm not sure if they realize that the name of their city is Bloomington, Indiana.

  1. My call? If you come to MY country and then are offended by MY holidays because they don't fit YOUR culture? GO back to where you came from!

    1. Yep, I'm certain it was immigrants upset about Columbus day and good Friday.

  2. Well, it was either that, or brain-dead city politicians trying to be politically correct, for some reason. I would almost bet my money on the latter. If you click on the poll in the article, you will find that 88% of respondents think it's a bad idea opposed to only 11% who think it's a good idea. So if only 11% think it's a good idea, why do it?

  3. Aw, cut city officials some slack. It's one of the few employment options left for the braindead. It's hard to work at all when you're that drunk. (Or so I hear.)
But if they come at St. Patty's heads WILL get flown.

    1. I heard they were planning to rename St. Patty's Day to National Oppressed Snake Protection Day. Just a rumor....
