As long as there are powerful older people in contact with ambitious younger people, there will always be abuse of privilege. It happened well before HW, and it won't stop after he's gone. It's endemic in the movie and music industries, theatre, fashion, even in academia, FFS. Not saying it's acceptable, just that it's everywhere.
What irks me most about HW was the insistence that women on the red carpet wear his wife's clothing line: Marchesa. To me, that kind of behavior is just inexcusable. Boorish, vulgar, anti-competitive, and due to the extent and influence of W&W, borders on monopolistic.
I'm happy to see that business crumble, as it deserves to, and hope to see lots of exciting up-and-coming designers on the red carpet post W&W.
