Three of the undefeated teams fell from grace:
#2 Penn State lost their first game, a 39-38 squeaker against #6 Ohio State.
#4 TCU dropped a 14-7 game against #25 Iowa State
#17 South Florida dropped one to conference rival Houston.
#15 Washington State had quite a rude fall from grace, allowing 58 points against Arizona. Their passers tossed for an incredible 600 yards (84 attempts - is Drew Brees back in college?), but lost the game by allowing four interceptions.
Washington State was part of a string of losers. Numbers 14-15-16-17 all lost. That opens up a big opportunity for undefeated #18 UCF to jump upwards. They won and scored 73 in the process.
On the silly side: Yes, UCF scored 73 points - but they didn't cover the spread! They won 73-33 and the spread was 44.5.
Good God, again! When did Iowa State learn to play football???
