Very often I get stumped for a second when somebody asks me who the V.P. is. Not just with Mr. Holy, but with all of them. And the losing V.P. candidates? Fuggitaboudit!
I think it's a British term but, jobs like the Vice President are referred to as a 'taskless thanks.'
I think the fancy term is "sinecure."
