Another one bites the dust - Trump fires Veterans Affairs secretary
If Trump has his way, he will be replaced by Admiral Ronny Jackson, who has been the official White House physician through three administrations. Jackson is a doctor, not an administrator, and has never managed a large enterprise before.
Intelligent, honest and a hard worker... will last a couple of months then...
ReplyDeleteFor some reason, Trump loves this guy - but you know how that goes. His romances and bromances tend to be short-lived.
DeleteJackson may be a good guy, but as you point out he has absolutely no experience in managing large complex organizations and budgets. Probably the most number of people he's been in charge of has been around 40. The VA has 375,000+ employees, including a substantial workforce with responsibilities unrelated to medical care.
ReplyDeleteThis is equivalent to taking the manager of your local PC repair shop, whom you really like, and making him CEO of Apple. It only makes sense in the context of the usual Trump theme of appointing people to head agencies with the intent of destroying them, in this case, privatizing the VA. If they were dead set on putting a military physician in that job, there are a least a 100 other better qualified, with applicable credentials and experience.
But none of them have told Trump he weights 239 pounds.
"Not a foggy dipshit," is that our new bar for Trump nominees? By the way, an excellent description of Ben Carson.
ReplyDeleteBen Carson's saved a lot more lives than you have. Maybe not the best administrator, but he deserves far more respect than the likes of you.
ReplyDeleteNow, relax, he clearly said Carson is *not* a foggy dipshit.
ReplyDeleteHowever, after all that work to become a neurosurgeon, he stopped doing surgery to head HUD. And run it into the ground. Facebook was under investigation for helping landlords block potential renters based on race. Under Carson, their strategy has changed from taking action to taking Facebook's word that they won't do it again.
HUD would be doing a better job if he literally did nothing.
Or went back to saving lives.
