The most interesting match-up is probably Clemson-Kansas. Kansas is a top seed and is favored by 4.5, but Clemson just won two easy victories, including a 31-point curb-stomping of favored Auburn.
Guess which team is most likely to pull off an upset this weekend? Assuming you don't consider it an upset when a number three seed beats a two, then the answer is those rapscallions from Loyola of Chicago. Although they are an eleventh seed, they are only 1.5 point underdogs in Thursday's match-up. Their opponent, Nevada, was not a strong seed (#7) and barely won their last two.
Other Cinderella teams:
(#9) Kansas State is a 6-point underdog against Kentucky, which is only a fifth seed. Kentucky has had an easy path and will continue to have one all the way thru to the Final Four, thanks to several upsets in the South region. So far they have played a #13 and a #12, and are now the top seed remaining in the South. They face a #9 Thursday. If they beat the #9, they will play either a #7 or a #11 in the following game!
(#9) Florida State is a 5.5 point underdog against Gonzaga. The most interesting thing about that game is that the over/under is 154. Most games are in the 130s.
(#11) Syracuse is a heavy underdog against Duke. If you like the Orangemen, most bookies will give you 11.5.
(#7) Texas A&M is considered to have a decent shot (underdogs by 2.5 to 3) against #3 Michigan. After all, they just finished beating a better team than that, and did so convincingly. (They beat second-seeded North Carolina by 21.)
