NCAA College Basketball Tournament results
Lots of upsets today
#1 Xavier fell to a nine seed (Florida State)
#3 Michigan State fell to Syracuse - a play-in team from the "first four"! Syracuse already has three wins, but they will need to keep up their energy level, because Duke, led by the legendary Coach K is next. Duke won their earlier match-up easily, holding the Orangemen to a mere 44 points. This is the coaching match-up between the two winningest coaches in Division 1 history. Between them they have won more than 2100 games, although Boeheim has had 101 of his wins vacated for rules violations. Boeheim has been coaching Syracuse for more than 40 years.
#2 Cincinnati lost to #7 Nevada. This one is especially fun because Nevada's next game is against the miracle kids from Loyola of Chicago, meaning that one or the other will advance to the Elite Eight
#2 North Carolina not only lost, they got clobbered (86-65) by unheralded Texas A&M
#4 Auburn must have sent their chess team by mistake. Clemson beat them by 31!
Nobody is even close to a perfect bracket in the ESPN contest. The top guy already got five games wrong, although all of his final four picks are still alive. He picked 13 of the Sweet 16 correctly.
