Betsy DeVos says her school safety panel won’t look at school safety

Sen. Patrick Leahy asked her, “So you’re studying gun violence but not considering the role of guns?”

Leahy got part of the point, but not the whole enchilada. Not only are they ignoring the role of guns, but the commission does not include educators or students, and the commission's early meetings were closed to the press and public! So it's a collection of people meeting in secrecy to discuss matters totally unrelated to student safety, which surprisingly is appropriate because none of them know anything about schools!
