World GDP Rankings. It is well known that California has a larger economy than France. Not as well known is the fact that three US CITIES have a larger economy than Russia. Interesting to me: if Texas seceded (as it theoretically can) and became a separate country, it would be the second largest economy in North America - it has a larger economy than either Canada or Mexico
