What has caused the logjam for Carnegie Hall tickets? Blame it on the Bossa Nova. I have always taken issue with those psychologists and self-help gurus who advocate personal responsibility. My philosophy: why blame yourself when you can blame it on the Bossa Nova? Personally, I blame the Bossa Nova for every mishap in the last half century, both personal and global, ranging from the Cuban Missile Crisis to my current backache to the Abu Ghraib scandal, and including the brief, inexplicable career of Anson "Potsie" Williams. In fact, I am currently at a loss to find a source of blame for events which occurred before the development of the Bossa Nova, like that whole crazy Hindenburg thing. If it had just happened a few years later, the hysterical announcer could have been saying "oh, the Bossa Nova".
