The official home page of Oceanic Airlines. Unfortunately, thay have had to discontinue service in the wake of the Flight 815 tragedy. (It looks like the real thing.)

  1. This website is fake -- it's for the TV show "Lost". See the photo of the fake Oceanic wreck at http://starbulletin.com/2005/06/14/features/story1.html.

(There has never been an airline named Oceanic Airlines. Ever.)

Also, note when you place your cursor over "tragedy" in the yellow box on the right, a dark box on the right appears. Drag it over and it's a picture of part of the script for "Lost". There's also some text underneath it that says "I survived a horrific plane crash an am stranded on an island somewhere Northeast of Australia and Southwest of Hawaii. In the event that I am never found, please forward word of my fate to my parents." I've never seen the show, so I don't know what any of this means.

Yes, I didn't think I had to explain that.

That's why I said "it looks real," which would have made no sense if it WAS real.

They are taking this to outrageous lengths, with complete web sites popping up everywhere for no purpose other than to establish credible identities for the missing persons.

  3. Sorry -- since I work with airlines all day and never watch TV, stuff like this sometimes gets lost (no pun intended) with me.
