- Kong and Narnia are still in a dead heat for first place, staving off two Wednesday openings and four Friday openings or expansions.
- The highest per-screen averages went to (1) Brokeback Mountain and (2) Spielberg's Munich, but they are only in 217 and 532 theaters respectively.
- The Ringer opened in the five spot, while Memoirs of a Geisha was one rung lower on the ladder.
- The two Wednesday openings held on to the three and four positions, but they are in 3000 theaters each, compared to 1500-1800 for the Friday films.
- Further crowding the already packed field, Rumor Has It, Wolf Creek and The Producers open tomorrow
