Dreamgirls opened humongous on Christmas Day, pulling in more than $10,000 per screen - that's more than the other four in the top five added together!Amazingly, Black Christmas also did OK, finishing sixth for the day.
The Children of Men did well per screen, but was only on 16 screens. I suppose that was for Oscar consideration. I don't know when they are planning to expand it, but the critical response to the film has been outstanding.
