"A federal judge in Texas has ruled that it is unlawful to provide a hyperlink to a Webcast if the copyright owner objects to it."
This case does not belong in court. It is a simple matter to block access to any part of a website. One may even block links from a specific referring site and redirect them to a sign-up page, or to an advertising page. Unfortunately, the defendant did not choose to point out that one may only link successfully to those portions of websites deliberately left unprotected by the site layout, and that a lack of protection is basically an open invitation to a link. Instead, the guy refused to hire a lawyer and chose to defend himself. He just went to court and ranted about freedom. Dipshit.
