No major surprises of any kind. Not even many minor ones. The Jennifer Garner flick dropped 65% from last week to finish well below expectations, but everything else was business as usual. The weekend was about 10% below last year, marking the third consecutive week of double-digit declines. That's no surprise when you see that the top seven films on the list are all below 50% at Rotten Tomatoes, and six of the seven are stinkers below 30%! The only good ones are carry-overs. The releases from he past five weeks don't even include any mediocre ones - they are all stinkers. Among the films with more than 30% positive reviews, there is not a single one which which has been released in January or February. In terms of the quality of the product, this may have been the worst five weeks in history. Viewed from that perspective, moviegoers have been remarkably patient if the decline is only 10%.
