Reminds me of an undoubtedly apocryphal quote my family attributes to my great-great uncle "Wujek Mike," back when he lived in the old country. When told that his Polish-speaking village was no longer part of Russia, but now part of Germany, he said "Thank God. I couldn't take one more of those Russian winters."
