Illinois's serial socks thief
" ... prosecutors charged Dowdy on Friday with a misdemeanor disorderly conduct charge for 'dropping stolen socks in an unreasonable manner, as to alarm and disturb.'"

Normally I would not think of reading books of state statutes, but I might make an exception for Illinois. Somebody in that state is pretty damned prescient to foresee a need for a law against the "unreasonable dropping of stolen socks," particularly if the same action is considered perfectly all right when the sock-dropper has a receipt for the socks.

Today's Uncle Scoopy Tip for Illinois Youngsters: When you do your unreasonable sock-dropping - and you know you will - make sure you have paid for the socks.

Or, alternately, you could drop the stolen socks in Wisconsin.
