Franken has to overcome a lot of baggage. When most people run for the Senate for the fist time, few voters know who they are, and they have to overcome that. Franken's problem is very different. 80% of Minnesota's voters know who he is, but they don't especially like him, so he has to convince them that he's not the unfunny, unsympathetic guy they believe him to be.Well, he has no chance on the unfunny, but maybe he can convince them he's an unfunny sympathetic guy!
