This Week's Movies ...

So far, only 28 Weeks Later has enough reviews to generate a score. 67% of the early reviews are positive. Early percentages on genre movies are often deceptively high, since the distributors generate buzz by making sure that the genre-friendly critics get an early look. Having said that, I'd add that a lot of people have praised this follow-up to 28 Days Later. The sequel was not directed by Danny Boyle, by the way.

The other three movies:

• Georgia Rule is a multi-generational Steel Ya-Ya Magnolia Sisterhood chixploitation film.
• Delta Farce is a redneck comedy with Larry the Cable Guy. As Stan Lee would say, "'Nuff said."
• The Ex is a black comedy Farrelly wannabe with Amanda Peet and Zach Braff and some SNL dudes and dudesses. The money boys are not high on this one, and the distro is below 1000 theaters.
