Great story. Maurice still holds the record for the worst qualifying round in Open history - a nifty 121 - not that bad considering he was 46 years old and it was his first-ever round of golf! He tried to sneak into the Open several more times after that, always using assumed names, once making it through nine holes with a 63 before being sent away.
