This story is both funny and sad. The guy spent $200,000 on a special balloon which would lift him 130,000 feet in the air, allowing him to jump down and break the free-fall record. The balloon broke free from his harness and just floated off without him. He is now broke.The real capper: he tried this twice before, and wind gusts shredded his balloon while it was on the ground. So I guess if you're a "half-full" person, you could say that he's making progress. This time at least the balloon got airborne!
