"POLARIS NUCLEAR SUB" PHOTO

This was inspired by the Cracked article just below. I'll bet that your parents would never let you send away for the nuclear sub advertised in comic books. Neither would mine. I wondered just what the "Polaris nuclear sub" really looked like, and Cracked didn't have a picture. Well, I know that everything is on the internet somewhere (unless it might actually have some value) so I found the blog of a guy whose parents were much cooler than ours. They not only ordered it, but took a picture (dated July 1967)!

Oddly enough, he thought it was pretty cool. It's amazing that he maintained such realistic expectations in the face of the ad's hype.
