They are only renting Dunn, who becomes a free agent at the end of the season, but the rental is not cheap because they ceded three prospects. The good news for D-back fans is that the team obviously does want to do what is necessary to make the post-season in baseball's weakest division. Webb, Haren, and Unit are 38-18, but the team is a puny 22-40 in its other decisions, and was looking for some big firepower to match the Dodgers' acquisition of Manny.
