On his March 5th show (linked above), Colbert discussed that Dutch artist who set up God's answering machine. He said, "God has got to be in because He is everywhere, which means God is screening His calls and I didn't make the cut." You'll find that quote at approximately the 14:45 mark on the show's timer. Two days earlier, on a post at 8:23 AM on March 3rd, I wrote: "We know God can't actually be out because He's everywhere. So if I get His machine that just means He's screening out my calls."
UPDATE: this entry mysteriously disappeared from a Google search for "Stephen Colbert reads Other Crap." It was there a few hours ago, and seems to have been removed deliberately! Of course, you all know I'm a big Colbert fan and I don't really care whether his writers steal my jokes ... but covering it up? Now THAT makes it interesting. And of course the fact that anyone noticed confirms the fact that one or more of the writers reads this page!

Stephen, we all love you, but please don't go Mencia on Uncle Scoopy. Or maybe one of your writers did it?
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of the "West Coast Delay" episode in Studio 60, the failed Aaron Sorkin-penned series.
