A look inside a NORWEGIAN PRISON

I've mentioned before that it was a real challenge for Scandinavians in the early 90s to keep Eastern Europeans out of their prisons, since life in a Norwegian jail was way better than life in Poland or Ukraine. The problem was exacerbated in Norway because they needed the Eastern Europeans during berry-picking season, so they couldn't just keep them out entirely. (Similar situation to immigrant farm workers in the USA. Poland was Scandinavia's Mexico.) When I lived in Norway, many of the parks were loaded with Eastern Europeans living in their cars during the good weather, although thety seemed to cause no significant problems that I was ever aware of.
