LAFF Review: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen - LAist

I'm pretty sure this guy didn't like Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

"I'd like to say it's nothing more than derivative shit, but that would insult infinitely superior derivative shit like, say, the Eragon books."

Look, I'm sure that's probably right, but my opinion is this: you know what to expect when you go to a movie directed by Michael Bay or Roland Emmerich. As they used to say on Farm Film Report: "Things get blowed up good." If you want to see the delicate mysteries of life explored carefully by sensitive thinkers, you can easily find a copy of "Manon of the Spring" or "Wings of Desire." They are covered with dust at Blockbuster. Used copies are for sale - for something like three cents plus postage - at Amazon Marketplace. On the other hand, if you go to a movie wanting to see millions of dollars spent to make it seem that famous historical landmarks are being destroyed by natural disasters or giant robots, Bay and Emmerich are your go-to guys. You will get exactly what you hoped for. And you will also get exactly what you deserve.
