Microsoft, Yahoo! agree on Internet search partnership

The new combo will be all Bing. Yahoo will give up its own search technology, which seems to be fundamentally based on the old Altavista engine, and will receive nothing up front. Why did they do it? For a chance to take 88% of all the revenues from the search engine ads on the combined site(s).

Bing is a good engine. I keep using Google because I am used to it, but I have noticed that the results on Bing contain less irrelevant junk, less which has been manipulated, less spam, and more of what I really want. It is entirely possible that I'll be using Bahoo, or Ying, or whatever it is, in the future
