Weekend Box Office Results for July 10–12, 2009

The aggregate was about what everyone expected, but there was some shifting from the expectations to the reality. The new films (read: "Bruno" )came in weaker than anticipated, but some of the carry-overs have established solid legs. The Proposal dropped only 18% from last week, and The Hangover did even better, with a mere 12% drop.

By the way, Transformers 2 ended up with the win last week when the final amounts were certified. Transformers 2 passed Transformers 1 this weekend, and has already done $339 million, That means that it is already #16 of all time, and still going strong. At this point it seems destined to finish no lower than 8th.
