Where the Wild Things Are is expected to stomp the record for the highest opening weekend in the traditionally dead period between October 10th and October 22nd. The record for that quiet two week span is currently held by The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, with a modest $28 million. A distant second is Kill Bill #1 with $22 million. Where the Wild Things Are is expected to gross $35m+.The supporting cast is also expected to perform fairly well. Law Abiding Citizen is pencilled in for $12 million, and the Stepfather about $9 million. Those two films are expected to finish 4th and 5th, respectively.
