Alleged Ala. killer was suspect in attempted bombing of Harvard professor - Local News Updates - The Boston Globe

Alleged Ala. killer was also a suspect in an attempted 1993 mail-ombing of Harvard professor

It's getting easier to understand why she thought she was above the law.

To be fair, she was just the principal suspect in the mail bombing. Period. No charges were ever filed against her or anyone else. But the circumstances were similar in certain ways to the Alabama situation. She had just had a major confrontation with the professor, who was apparently not completely enthusiastic about her doctoral work. He received mail bombs soon after the dispute

Here's another fascinating twist: "During a search of Bishop's computer, authorities found a draft of a novel that Bishop was writing about a female scientist who had killed her brother and was hoping to make amends by becoming a great scientist."
