UPDATE: 'Bananaman' fails to sell fruit-themed collection - PE.com - Daily News Digest

"The International Banana Museum did not find a taker on eBay this weekend, so the owner reposted his auction - and doubled his price."

"Ken 'The Bananaman' Bannister, 70, is trying to find a home for the world's largest collection dedicated to a single fruit. He hasn't been able to sell the collection of 17,000 banana-related items, which had an opening bid of $7,500. Today, the price was at $15,000, then $50,000."

I went to school with a guy named "Bananas" Foster, but as far as I know his nickname actually had nothing to do with bananas. It just sounded kinda cool.
