Daily Box Office for Friday, April 30, 2010 - Box Office Mojo

Daily Box Office for Friday, April 30, 2010

Nightmare on Elm Street opened big - more than $15 million on Friday, right on pace for the $40 million or so predicted by the experts. It took in as much as the next nine films added together.

Furry Vengeance bombed royally. It grossed less than $2 million despite being in 3000 theaters. The Weekend Warrior expected it to finish third this weekend, but it finished sixth on Friday, or maybe even seventh, contingent on the final numbers. I suppose it could still finish second or third for the weekend because it's more of a Saturday movie, but it looks too weak to reach even its modest expectations.
