Twilight came in right at $70 million, which is exactly where the predictions pegged it. It has grossed an impressive $161 million already, thanks to a spectacular opening day on Wednesday.The Last Airbender, although excoriated and ridiculed by critics, actually performed better than expected. I suppose that shows you something about the importance of critics. Or not. Weekend total: $40 million.
Third place went to Toy Story 3, which took in another $30 million, raising its total to $289m.
