Salt faded a bit, so Inception managed to win the weekend 43-36. Salt performed almost exactly as expected, but Inception's strong media presence and solid word-of-mouth created enough curiosity to give the film a very strong retention rate. It lost only 30% from its opening weekend.

Ramona and Beezus performed weakly, as anticipated. It took in only eight million in 2700 theaters, but that's not really a financial disaster because there was never much risk for Fox, which budgeted only $15 million for the film. To state it another way, R&B grossed 53% of its budget on opening weekend, compared to 33% for Salt.
