The summer must be over! Expendables held on to the #1 spot with a tepid $16 million. With a total gross of $108 million, it was the weakest weekend since the April 30 period.Summary of the new films, none of which did anything to remember:
- Vampires Suck: second place; $12 million. Prediction: first place; $15 million.
- Lottery Ticket: fourth place; $11 million. Prediction: sixth place; $10 million.
- Piranha 3D: sixth place, $10 million. Prediction: third place; $14 million.
- Nanny McPhee Returns: seventh place, $8 million. Prediction: fifth place, $11 million.
- The Switch: eighth place, $8 million. Prediction: tenth place, $5 million.
