• Easy A: The High School comedy took second place was was expected to finish first, but despite that, its gross is tracking perfectly with estimates. (The place shift occurred because the Affleck film performed much better than expected.)

• Devil: The devil-in-the-elevator film is on track to finish third with about $14 million, and that's exactly what was expected of it.

• Alpha and Omega: the cartoon was expected to finish a weak fifth with about $7 million, and that's just what it seems to be doing.

• The only surprise for the week is The Town. Affleck's film was expected to finish second with about 15 million for the weekend. Perhaps as a result of outstanding reviews, it will do much better than that for the weekend, and it finished in first place on Friday.
