Secretariat the movie could not match the feats of Secretariat the horse. In fact, it not only failed to win the first leg of the triple crown, it didn't even place. Life as We Know It took first place with $5 million. Secretariat finished third, a length behind. My Soul to Take was fourth with a weak $2.6 million.
Not even Zach Galafianakis's relatives went to see his movie. It missed the top ten completely, grossing less than a million.
