Megamind is a hit. Although it started tentatively on Friday by virtually tying for first with Due Date, it soared on the weekend with family audiences. It grossed $47.6M for the weekend, hitting Weekend Warrior's projection ($47.4) just about on the nose.Mr. Warrior's predictions did well in general. He predicted $32.6 for Due Date and that film grossed $33.5. He predicted $23.3 for For Colored Girls, and that film came in at $20.1.
All three films have to be considered successful.
By the way, Megamind ended up with a pretty respectable score on Rotten Tomatoes - 67%. The other two new films finished below 40%.
