CNN Lifts Kathy Griffin Ban

Glad to see it. I wouldn't say that I am a big fan of hers in general, but I think her New Year's Eve coverage is an oasis of edgy, disrespectful comedy in a desert of bland, hackneyed babble. Most New Year's Eve TV seems to be far too serious and is probably aimed at people in their 80s who think this may be the last time they see a new year dawn. The programmers seem to assume that people who don't leave their homes are still flipping the channel looking for Guy Lombardo and the Royal Canadians. Kathy, on the other hand, ridicules the counterfeit pomp of the occasion and has made me laugh several times, especially when she's trying to pull away Anderson Cooper's veil of pseudo-professionalism.
