Directors Guild Crowns 'King's Speech'

Directors Guild Crowns "King's Speech"

Many people feel that Tom Hooper should not even have been nominated for the Best Director Oscar. The consensus seems to be that he stole Christopher Nolan's nomination. His fellow directors obviously do not agree with that. They not only nominated him, but they chose him over everyone.

Unlike the Oscar committee, the directors did include Nolan among the nominees. They narrowed it down to five by eliminating the Coen brothers, who were nominated for an Oscar for True Grit.

It appears that the Best Picture battle has now been narrowed down to a dogfight between The King's Speech and The Social Network.
