The computers and humans are in pretty solid agreement on the top 7, with only a few minor exceptions.
But then we have some oddities:
#8 Oregon is rated 6th in both human polls, but 13th by the computers.
The computers still like Kansas State, placing them 8th even after last week's drubbing. The humans disagree, ranking them 15th and 19th. I should point out something relevant here. The computer nerds are not free to use their best systems. Sagarin has a very accurate predictor which takes the margins of loss/victory into account, but the BCS system uses a less accurate one which considers only who won and lost. Therefore, the "official" computer ranking of Kansas State was not significantly affected by their 41-point loss to Oklahoma. Based on the modified computer systems forced by the BCS authorities, a 41-point loss is the same as a 3-point loss in triple overtime.
In Sagarin's "predictor" system, Kansas State is 29th, but in the system demanded by the high sheriffs of the BCS, they are ranked 7th!!!
By the way, the computers have no idea why the humans have voted West Virginia onto the list at all. Not a single one of the six computer systems rates West Virginia in the top 25.
