Texas Rangers make it 3-1. Nelson Cruz is in the groove.

Texas Rangers make it 3-1. Nelson Cruz is in the groove.

Cruz is now the only guy in baseball history with two extra-inning homers in the same post-season series.

(And he previously had become the only guy in baseball history ever to end a post-season game with a walk-off grand slam.)

The announcers made the point that Cruz might be the strongest guy in baseball. Maybe so, but I wouldn't bet on him. He's a powerful man (three 450-foot homers this year), as is Prince Fielder (longest homer of 2011 at 486 feet and a different one which traveled 471 feet), and Juston Upton (a 464 and a 478 - both in April) but I think my money is on Mike Stanton, a young kid who just keeps getting better.

I was joking a few days ago that God was a Yankee fan, but I interpreted the data wrong. The man upstairs is just rooting against the Tigers. With the injuries and the rain, they just can't catch a break.
