NCAA College Football BCS Standings, Week 12

NCAA College Football BCS Standings Week 12

Arkansas has been flying under the radar most of the year, but is now rated 6th by the computers as well as the humans. You wouldn't expect them to beat LSU on Thanksgiving weekend, but if they did ... well, it would certainly change the national championship picture, as would an Oklahoma State loss to Oklahoma.

There are now only two significant differences between the computer systems and the human polls.

* The computers rank Kansas State 7th in the nation while the two human polls place them 17th.

* The computers barely even acknowledge the existence of Wisconsin (rating .010), but the humans rank them 13th on both polls. They could still go to the Rose Bowl in spite of their weak computer rating. They'd have to beat Penn State on the last day of the season to win their half of the Big Ten, then beat the winner of the other half, which could be any one of three teams. The computers might still hate them even if that happened, but the Big Ten champ gets a Rose Bowl bid.

* You would expect a large gap with Houston, but only a small one exists. The computers now rank Houston 13th while the humans vote them into 10th.
