Usage share of web browsers - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Latest usage share of web browsers

Per StatCounter: In the two years since November of 2009, when Firefox hit its all-time high share, Chrome has been gaining steadily. During that period MSIE has lost 16 points of share, Firefox has dropped 6 points, and Chrome has picked up 20 of those 22 points. Safari got the other two.

Chrome continues to gain month after month, and should pass Firefox for the #2 spot this month or next. It's not clear how long the gains can continue, but if Chrome has another year like the last two, it will pass MSIE and take the #1 spot next year. It began 2010 behind MSIE by 50 points. It began this year down by 32. It will begin next year down by about 12 or 13. By continuing to close the gap by 1.5 points per month (which it is still doing as of now), Chrome could be #1 by the end of next summer.
