The central argument of the piece is this: whether you like it or not, Honey Boo-Boo takes place in the real world. That makes it the only reality show that actually presents reality.
To this day I have never seen more than a few seconds of any reality show, so I really can't validate their hypothesis, but it sounds reasonable.
