Cabrera homers. If the season ended today, he'd win the triple crown.

Detroit has four more games to play. The other 40-homer guys have four or five. (Cabrera has 43 dingers, tied with Hamilton, and three other guys have 40 or more.)

Ryan Braun also has a (very dim) chance at the NL triple crown. He's leading in HR and RBI, but his batting average is .320, 14 points behind Posey. Although Braun has not been mathematically excluded from the race, it's almost impossible to make up that kind of ground in batting average. He'd have to go something like 15-for-18 to reach .335. Even if Posey were to co-operate by slumping to .329, Braun would still need 12-for-18 to reach .330. That's theoretically possible, but highly unlikely.
